Welcome to The Adirondack Eco!

This is a club for those who love the Adirondacks and for those who would like to know more about them.

On this home page, we'll introduce our club and invite you to join. Check out the pages and the links. If you think something is missing that should be here, advize me by e-mail and I'll see what I can do to add it.

If you know nothing about the Adirondacks, I'll start you off with a few of its many interesting facts. The Adirondacks are a mountain range, a forest preserve, a state park in northen New York and home to about 130,000 year-round residents. In size, it is as big as the state of Vermont, its neighbor to the east. About 43% of the area is owned by the state of New York and is currently protected as "forever wild" by the constitution of the state. The balance is in private ownership, a majority of which is owned by paper and lumber companies. To learn more, follow the links and read on.
